PMI to Reschedule PMI Global Congress 2004–Latin AmericaTo ensure the best development opportunities for Latin American professionals, Project Management Institute (PMI) today announced that it will reschedule to a later date its Global Congress 2004-Latin America, set to begin 28 November in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The PMI Global Congress 2004-Latin America was born of the success of the "Congreso Ibero Americano de Gerencia de Proyectos", which has been held annually since 2000. While PMI could conduct PMI Global Congress 2004-Latin America in the tradition of PMI's other world-class project management learning and networking conferences, practitioners are encouraged, instead, to participate in the Sao Paolo, Brazil Chapter's IV Seminario Internacional do PMI-SP set to begin 9 December. The broader interests of the project management profession in Latin America are best served by presenting a single, high-quality event, rather than two conferences held in close time proximity to one another. As PMI explores dates for future Institute event opportunities in Latin America, PMI will coordinate efforts with its Sao Paolo Chapter and other Latin American leaders to ensure success for their professional development event featuring learning opportunities, access to professional tools and resources, and networking with project management practitioners from the Latin America and other regions. PMI recommends that all project management practitioners in the region participate in the IV Seminario Internacional do PMI-SP for two days of learning and networking. Attendees currently registered for the Global Congress 2004-Latin America will be offered a full refund of the registration cost and complimentary registration of equal value at an upcoming PMI Global Congress of their choice.
