Seminar 04: Program Management: Delivering Business Strategies through Projects and ProgramsInstructor: Michel Thiry, MSc, PMP, FAPM, PMI Fellow
Wednesday-Friday, 14 October-16 October
This 3-day seminar is based on the PgMP® Credential Handbook knowledge requirements. It is a good overview for PgMP® candidates. The seminar is based on recognized standards, including the PMI®’s Standard for Program Management and the UK Government’s “Managing Successful Programmes”, as well as the instructor’s worldwide practice and research. OPM3®, the PMBOK Guide® 4th ed. and other publications consider programs as essential element of organizational management that contribute to the achievement of a strategic plan, but project, program and portfolio managers still find themselves at a loss on how to achieve this. This PgM seminar covers the systematic management of projects and other actions to achieve business strategy and deliver business benefits, both financial and non-financial. It puts PgM in the wider context of governance, strategy, portfolios and PMOs and goes through the program life-cycle, processes and techniques using a case study that emphasises PgMP knowledge requirements. A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) areas covered: Integration Management, Scope Management, Human Resource Management, Communications Management, Risk Management, and Procurement Management. Other areas covered: Benefits and Value Management, Stakeholders Management, Project Governance. Who should attend? What will my seminar experience cover?
Reference Book: Seminar includes the book “Value Management Practice” by Michel Thiry. How will I benefit?
What instructional materials will be used? Each participant’s folder contains a number of live case studies, full papers and recent book chapters on program management. |
