Seminar 21: Agile Project Management - NEW

Instructor: Michele Sliger, PMP

Wednesday-Thursday, 14 October-15 October
8:00 AM–4:00 PM

When software development project teams move to Agile methodologies, traditionally trained project managers wonder what their new roles and responsibilities will be in an environment that no longer expects them to make stand-alone decisions. This course begins by focusing on the principles and values of Agile and how these values change our project management approach when we shift from a plan-driven to a value-driven endeavor. Special attention is given to the process areas in the PMBOK® Guide, and how those translate to Agile project management activities. Finally, and most importantly, this course will help the project manager understand what it means to lead – not direct or control – an agile team.

After attending this workshop, project managers will have a better understanding of what changes they need to make professionally and personally, and how to make these changes in order to succeed in the transition to an Agile software development approach.
