  PMI Research Conference 2008
13-16 July 2008
Warsaw Marriott, Warsaw, Poland

2008 PMI Research Conference Boasts Record Attendance

2008 PMI Research Conference that took place in Warsaw, Poland on 13-16 July attracted a record number of nearly 400 researchers, academics, practitioners and consultants from around the world.

In addition to seven plenary presentations from varied management disciplines, 51 double-blind peer-reviewed papers across three educational tracks and student poster sessions, the conference featured the first presentation of preliminary findings from the “Researching the Value of Project Management” study.

Janice L. Thomas, Ph.D. and Mark Mullaly, PMP, presented the findings of PMI’s landmark study that was conducted through Athabasca University, Canada. Many more watched the event live on PMI.org and followed the action through our new Voices of Project Management blog.

Although the results are still preliminary, Dr. Thomas was able to state an essential conclusion, “I can stand here today and unequivocally state that project management does deliver value.”

Watch an online video of the presentation on Researching the Value of Project Management by Dr. Thomas and Mr. Mullaly. Read thoughts and observations by PMI President and CEO Gregory Balestrero on PMI.org/value.
