Senior Vice President, Strategy
As Senior Vice President, Strategy, Murat Bicak is responsible for overseeing the shaping of PMI’s long term strategy, supporting the execution for the company’s business objectives, increasing footprint in high growth markets, and advancing PMI’s capabilities in partnering with organisations both in the public and private sectors. He brings more than 20 years of management consulting, entrepreneurship, and corporate leadership experience spanning multiple sectors.
Mr. Bicak joined PMI from Monitor Deloitte where he was a leader within the Firm’s strategy practise. In that role, he advised Fortune 100 and Private Equity clients and helped his clients develop and execute strategies to reach growth ambitions via organic and inorganic pathways. Prior to Monitor Deloitte, Mr. Bicak was a Strategic Business Director at Honeywell Performance Materials where among other responsibilities he led business development, marketing and commercialisation for a new business. He held various entrepreneurial and corporate leadership roles in the chemical, materials science, pharmaceuticals and mobile technology sectors globally.
Mr. Bicak speaks German, Italian, Turkish and English and is learning Spanish. He is an avid traveler and has worked in six countries and has conducted business in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. He is a speaker on several topics including intrapreneurship, strategy and M&A strategy.
He holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS and MS in Chemical Engineering from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich).

Clare Savage has 18 years’ experience working in the Project Management Profession for Global financial institutions, including JPMorgan and Barclays Wealth. Clare joined Deutsche Bank in 2012 as a Programme Manager in the Investment Bank. Her programme management experience has enabled the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects to enhance business processes, deliver new products and services as well as evolve digital banking capabilities.
In 2015, Clare moved to the COO Central Management Office at Deutsche Bank, as the Head of Change Governance. In this role she assumed the ownership for the Change Governance Framework to oversee the delivery of the Group-wide change portfolio, ensuring alignment of the portfolio to business strategy through disciplined and professional delivery. To achieve this, Clare is also responsible for driving standardisation and best practise to ensure cost effective processes in the PM and PMO practises.
Clare studied for her Business and Economics degree at Edinburgh University and more recently completed a Psychology Degree through the Open University. She lives in London, UK with her husband and two children and in her free time enjoys taking on challenging obstacle courses, usually involving mud, studying and doing jigsaws.

Gabor George Burt is one of the core, original experts of the Blue Ocean Strategy, the new millennium’s most influential management concept. He is a contributor of case study material to the worldwide bestselling Blue Ocean Strategy book, and creator of its most popular blog.
As an expansion to the BOS work, Gabor launched the Slingshot Framework in 2011. Slingshot enjoys worldwide recognition, and is at the forefront of global innovation. The framework links systematic creativity with smart strategy, filling a major global need: A 2010 IBM survey of 1,500 CEOs worldwide found that ‘creativity’ is considered the single most important leadership trait for future success.
Gabor delivered opening presentations at the Global Marketing Forum in 2013. In 2014, he designed and hosted the Forum for Partnership of the Americas, a gathering of business and government leaders from across the Western Hemisphere. He shared the stage with Seth Godin (2014) and Sir Richard Branson (2015) at the Forum One Conference, one of Europe’s biggest leadership events with 5,000 participants. In 2016, he was one of the three judges for the E.U. Innovation Venture Award.
Gabor works with executive teams of dozens of organisations, including multinationals, SMEs, public sector, NGOs and start-ups in applying the Slingshot Framework to re-imagine market boundaries and carve out high growth strategies. Among them, he has helped American Express launch an entirely new business in partnership with Walmart. Gabor also leads immersive gatherings of VIP participants, and is launching ‘Slingshot Future Shift’, a social engagement platform combining pioneering events, action initiatives, and awards to drive progress through re-imagining boundaries.

Maria Hedwall is Project Management Director and Site Lead for Innovative Medicine Operations Project Management at AstraZeneca, Gothenburg, Sweden. Maria has been in various positions at the Astra Zeneca and always been close to drug programmes and projects in R&D-all with the same goal–to deliver new medicines to patients. With 16 years of experience from working in a matrix organisation in a complex challenging and changing environment, strictly regulated by regulatory requirements, she has gained knowledge and experience about what it takes to deliver the organisational objectives.
