Special Needs at PMI Events

PMI will be glad to assist you with any special needs that you may have in order to ensure your full participation. Please provide written notification to PMI so that your needs can be addressed in advance of the event.

For needs that arise during the event, customer care representatives are available to help ensure your time at the symposium is enjoyable. Please see a PMI staff member onsite at the PMI Information Desk in the registration area to be connected to important resources.

Event Security
The safety and security of all attendees is PMI’s highest priority. In order to ensure a safe and productive event for all attendees, we request your cooperation in the following areas:

Clearly display your PMI name badge at all times.

  • Do not bring unnecessary items into the sessions (recording devices, video cameras, laser pointers).
  • Do not leave bags, briefcases, laptop computer/cases, luggage or other valuable items unattended at any time.
  • Whenever possible, do not bring valuable items to the symposium. Use the safe or lock-boxes provided in your hotel.
  • Immediately report any suspicious behavior to any PMI staff member or a member of the hotel.

Private Social Functions Policy for PMI Events
Hosted parties or meetings held by any company/entity that invites symposium delegates are not permitted to occur during any official PMI activity.

PMI reserves the right to postpone or delay any function that conflicts with PMI functions.

Photography and Videography on Premises at PMI Events
The use of cameras, cell phone cameras, video recorders and any other type of recording device is prohibited for any commercial or non-personal use in the Exhibit Hall, during any general session or keynote presentation, during educational sessions or in any PMI space in the hotel or any PMI contracted venue except by authorized PMI personnel. A professional photographer and videographer will be on-site to document events and activities. Photographs and videotapes are the sole property of PMI. By registering for and attending these events, attendees understand that PMI may use their likenesses for future promotional purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please notify the photographer/videographer on-site.

Professional Development Units (PDUs)
PMI will automatically register Professional Development Units, or PDUs, for all attendees of the congress. All educational sessions that are eligible for PDUs will have staff posted at entrances to scan for delegate PDUs. PDUs will be automatically be uploaded to the PDU transcripts of participating delegates that hold one or more of the following credentials: PMP, PgMP, ACP, RMP, SP. PDUs will appear on delegates’ transcripts within 72 hours from completion of the attended session.

It is your responsibility as an attendee to ensure your badge has been scanned if you want your PDUs recorded.

For questions regarding PDU reporting/scanning, please speak with an Experient representative at the on-site registration desks. For questions regarding the number and type of PDUs available per session, please speak with a PMI Customer Care representative at the information desk.

Download Presentations
Visit the congress website two weeks after the event to download PDF files of the presentations which may include additional materials used by the speakers at the symposium. Presentations will be available for download for six weeks after the symposium closes.

Other

  • Name Badges - Name badges must be worn during all official PMI activities and will be scanned for access to meeting rooms. Delegates without the proper name badge will not be allowed access to any PMI activities.
  • Smoking at PMI Events - Smoking is permitted only in designated smoking areas.
  • Recommended Attire for PMI Events - Business casual attire and comfortable footwear are appropriate for all sessions and events including the evening receptions. Since meeting room temperatures and personal comfort preferences vary widely, we suggest you bring a wrap, sweater or jacket with you.
  • Lost and Found - The PMI Information Desk will serve as the “Lost and Found” information point.
  • Children at PMI Events - Children under the age of 18 are not allowed to attend any PMI function. Those 18 years of age or older may attend PMI functions where alcohol is not served provided a guest registration is purchased. All attendees to PMI sponsored receptions where alcohol is served must be at least 21 years old in the United States or the legal drinking age of the hosting country.
